It is with deep regret and sadness that The HMAS BRISBANE Association
(belatedly) records the passing of a shipmate and friend.

O2074 Surgeon Lieutenant Desmond (Des) Henry Owens, passed away in NSW
on 21st June, 2010, as the result of a stroke, aged 74.

Des done two Logistic Support trips to Vietnam in 1967 on VAMPIRE, and
was the ships doctor on BRISBANE's 1969 deployment on the gunline.

May you always have blue skies and gentle breezes Des,
Wherever you may roam.

UNCLASSIFIED

All,

I have just been informed of the passing of ex CPOATWO Jim Hill who finally succumbed to cancer and passed away early this morning at Berry Hospital.

Jim was heavily involved in the Fleet Air Arm Museum and at ALBATROSS Air Days and was the Chief Armourer on 817 Sqn when I served there back in the late 70's.

Details for Jim's funeral are still being finalised, howeevr I undertand there will be a memorial service at the FAA Museum followed by a service at the Worrigee Crematorium. Once I have final details I will pass them on.

John Schonberger
