Sad to hear of Kim's passing, I served with Kim on a few postings including Nirimba, Stalwart and Cerberus. He was a pleasure to work with and I am sure he will be sadly missed by his family.
Taken far to soon. Fair winds and following seas Kim.

Jesus. I shared a house with Kim in the late 70's when he was a PO Mech on Yarra just before Yarra came out of the half life refit at CoDock.
We often say that members pass too soon.
This guy certainly fits the bill.
He was a hell of a guy and a true white man.
We were messmates when Barry Irons was Pres of the Mess. Barry also crossed the bar recently.
Sad days indeed... Vale Mate, my thoughts are with your family.

Vale - POWE James Whitelaw Cullen
Jimmyc, known to most as Blue or just Jim, is listed on the Pussers Greenies web site as having left for the Big Switchboard on the 12 of August 2012, the obituary in the Canberra Times on the 15 of August notes his funeral was held on the 17 of August.
Knew Jim when he was on Mandang and I was on Lae in PNG, had a couple of chats with him recently about that time.
Smooth seas, blue skies and fair winds Jim, my condolences to his family.

I regret to advise that David Ramsay died suddenly on the evening of 4 September while attending the current Ministerial talks in Jakarta as an advisor – he was working with the AusAID program. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
Captain DJ Ramsay RAN (rtd), son of the late Commodore Sir James, served as a junior officer in BRISBANE 1970-1971, including the second gunline deployment, before joining the Fleet Air Arm where he was an A4 pilot.
Later he was commissioning XO of SUCCESS and subsequently CO. In the latter part of his career, he served as Naval Attaché in Jakarta and hence following his retirement from the Service he continued working with Indonesia.
As one of his yearmates, I mourn his loss – a fine man who has left us at too young an age (64).

A good mate of mine Reg Coldwell passed away sometime over the weekend. Exact details are a bit scratchy. The police broke into his house and discovered him.
Reg was a great kellick stoker served on Parramatta, Duchess and Jervis Bay to name a few. I have known Reg for 40 years since we were at Lonsdale together in 1972.
Reg, Mark Collins, Geoff Stirling, Kim Hickey, James Dodd and myself used to go to every car race meeting for the next 4 -5 years when ever we were around in the same place.
Reg pit crewed for me at Calder and Sandown quite often after we left the Navy and was inspired when I got to race at 2 AGP support events. He raced a Datsun 1600 sports sedan in club events here in Victoria.
The best thing I can say about him is that he was an ARRGG and my mate. He was round my place two weeks ago and I spoke to him last week to give him the good news on my cancer. He was very happy for me in my war with "C" and looking forward to going to his next race meeting in two weeks to compete in his club championships.
ARRGG= All round general good guy
RIP. LME. Coldwell. RT.
Smooth seas finished with main engines
Cheers
