The way I remember it, the run will be on 5th October, but a number of us will be there for the week. I'll be there from the 1st - 6th.

Just to refresh this topic, and to get some definite dates so people can plan, perhaps we should start an attendance list and plan. First, the plan: Rocks Run to happen on the 5th October, commencement point yet to be advised due to the situation with Jacksons on George. As of 2 weeks ago it was for sale. http://www.smh.com.au/business/property ... 2pv8r.htmlThey've still got a website up and running, so I'm assuming they're still operating as per normal. I'll confirm in the next few days by phone to see what the go is. Several properties around the Rocks have been sold recently including the Fortunes of War pub, and redevelopment is possible, so the best plan for the day is to take the usual route and adapt if a pub has been closed. Maybe even two drinks per stop could be achieved..... Lunch should be able to be achieved as per usual, given that the weekend is a long weekend (Monday Public Holiday) and it's also NSW School Holidays. And the finish as usual at the Keller/Orient. Attendance: So far we have confirmed: Pussasan Shep Seejay As for the other events during the week e.g. Tall Ships entry; Fleet Entry; Navy Open day (5th) + various other band recitals, etc., it seems so far that all concerned want to do their own thing. Any further entrants coming?

I'll be in Sydney for one night sometime around the 2nd/3rd enroute to the UK. Might catch up with a few of you at the pub one evening.

Chris, check the timetable of events http://www.navy.gov.au/ifr/the Fleet entry is on the 5th, the tall ships entry is on the 3rd and there are other events as well. Don't suppose it is possible to have the Run so it does not clash, perhaps?

I did Gordon. Fleet entry is on the 4th. Fleet review is on the 5th. With the Tall Ships coming in on the 3rd.
I don't know whether the Fleet Review will be a ship/vessel/boat carrying a dignitary cruising past anchored/moored ships, or all ships up-anchoring and cruising past a stationary vessel, but I'm assuming the former is the go. Therefore I'm guessing the fleet entry would be the better spectacle to see.

Hi Guys, My intention is to be in Sydney for the IFR and Rocks Run first weekend in October. Will await decision on where the run will start. Missed it last year and do not want to do so again.

My first look at the topic (sorry) has left me a bit confused. The first post by Col Kelson suggested bringing Frisco's and the RANSH Rocks Run, herein after referred to as The Run, back to Friday 11th and Saturday 12th of October so that attendees at the International Fleet Review (IFR), could seamlessly proceed afterwards with our great and proud tradition. It would seem that Col went ahead and booked a couple of extra days accommodation to this end. There appeared to be some agreement by others until about a month later when Shep referred to the change for The Run to be the first weekend in October instead of the second as previously suggested, and nobody blinked. At a later date, even though not attending, Ned refers to The Run being the 11th and 12th of October. Later still, SeeJay refers to our noble foray as being the 5th of October and a few others have said they will be in that. I might add, very few. Numbers appear to be down from previous years. Might this have something to do with the obvious clash between events if The Run takes place on the same day as what is seen as the main public event of the IFR? If it must be on the 5th, so be it, but I will be out on the harbour with my family. If the following weekend is decided upon, I'll see you at Frisco's.
