It is with a sad heart that I inform you of Ken Wade's passing. We have lost another 13th Intake mate and it happened so quickly that it caught everyone off guard.

Ken was taken by liver cancer on Friday, his funeral is on Thursday 17th March at 14.00 and will be held in the South Chapel at Woronora General Cemetery and Crematorium, 121 Linden Street, Sutherland.

Rest in peace Ken, you enthralled us with your stories. May you have smooth seas and fair winds.

Whilst I can't say that Ken and I were close, he was a character, creating his own legends at RANATE (e.g., manufacturing a fully operational machine gun
which he test-fired into the lawn in front of his donga and then kept clipped under the glove-box in his car,) and equally, with many (unverified) stories after he left Nirimba...

As Ned pointed out, Ken's passing did come as something of a shock, having only been informed of his terminal liver cancer a week ago...

My condolences to his long time partner Margaret... R.I.P. Ken, another taken too young...
