Col Ryan and Mike Bowden MAY be attending this year as well. I know Col is interested. He wants to swap Rugby Union tales with Pussa.

As is my usual procedure, I'd like to suggest a few topical subjects for further discussion during the Rocks Run: 1. The modern proclivity to incorporating "sweat-wicking" fabric into men's performance underwear, 2. The benefits of superfoods in the form of berries/nuts over olde worlde foods, 3. The on-going perception that Chippies are above Tiffs in the Naval pecking order, and 4. Why is it that we are not allowed to chop down any trees without local council approval, but any fool can produce a child without a licence?? I submit these suggestions early so that you may all research and compile your erudite responses and interjections as we progress the spirited, enlightened and educational discussion of these fascinating subjects. As usual though ......and in good spirit ........I'm sure that there may be other subjects which some of you may feel strongly motivated to add.

I would like to point out that the 'Push PW down the stairs' theme remains extant.

Ned perplexed? Would you believe I made a presento sextant out of perplex once? For RADm Tony Horton. Real decent bloke. Taught him how to use fibreglass as well.

Tony Horton was the skipper at Creswell when I was Mess Pres. He was really supportive and virtually let us run the mess as we saw fit. Definitely the best skipper I served under.

Same here, Ned. When I posted onto HOBART Crash Kennedy was the skipper and we all thought when he was leaving that no-one could be as good. Tony Horton replaced Crash and we couldn't believe our luck! Then, when I was a civilian instructor at Nirimba in '90, the powers that be asked if I could give someone a GRP course during the leave period. It was Tony, and we had a great time for 2 weeks as I taught him to repair his GRP yacht. Just a top bloke who brought out the best in everyone.

Denyse and I went to the Palisades (upstairs) for a drink on Thursday, the cheapest wine was a pino grigio at $13 a glass or $70 a bottle. Needless to say we only had one drink. We ventured into the Argyle and were very impressed with the setup (and only $7.50 a glass). Is it on our itinery??
