My bad - the truck is 12 volt (not 24 volt). Actually my good as it means that the wiring system is "reasonably" straight forward.
As suggested I checked the globes out on the lights - there is one side light that has a globe with markings on it - 12 volt 8 watt (the other remaining globes are not marked).
The description of the truck suggested by the Register in the UK was that it would be 24 volt so, I got it in my mind that it would be 24 volt. I went through the general wiring diagram for the truck (manuals supplied by the Register) and the 12 volt version dashboard is the one in the truck. The same wiring diagram introduced the confusion on the fuel pump as it only offers the 24 volt fit with the suggestion that the 12 volt aligned truck has a mechanical pump on the engine (it does not).
I have just made contact with the gentleman that runs the RAF Firefighting Museum in the UK and who has a similar (not quite same) unit as the Nirimba one and he appears happy to supply images and info on his unit (will help out with some of the missing items in the cabin).

It's surprising the number of people out there who resurrect old machinery simply for the pleasure of doing so, and I'm certainly one of those. Brian, pleased to see you've had a breakthrough of sorts with the wiring. Gaining the assistance of another nutcase ... er... enthusiast with a similar vehicle is invaluable. :ok:

Well I don't know about the rest of you but I bet I've got the biggest old machinery resurrection going - the John Oxley, 800 tons. :cat1: :cat1:

We can fit your little red wagon in our well deck, Strop.
Mind you, it is taking a while (2002 to 2023) and she's not back in the water yet.
BUT she will go to sea, fully operational and in survey. (eventually)

Give me a yell and come down to check it out. I know you just love an old steam engine. (or two,or three)

There is steam but coming out the ears............rebuilding the SU electric fuel pump. Easy, dismantle, take photos, follow the directions, ensure that all the new parts in the overhaul kit get used. On the pump two brass discs - in the kit one brass disc and one plastic type disc. On the diagram (on the interweb) both discs numbered the same (suggesting both brass) :shock: . Safe course of action, reassemble with two brass discs and contact the supplier to see if there was a sneeky design change (mind you the lower disc now has a spring (in the overhaul kit and shown on the diagram) that was not in the pump when I took it apart :yess: . Nearly finished, all I need to do is reconnect the long bolt on the diaphragm that goes up through the coil and screws into a small shaft (that is hard to see and also turns :swear1: ) whilst the spring is pushing the diaphragm in the opposite direction :swear1: . Outcome - placed on bench - tomorrows job............... :brick-wall:
