Don't know how many of you caught the Sydney to Hobart side story about OLI the sea-going cat in the ABC News this morning, who was going to endure the race aboard "Sylph VI"... It didn't dawn on me until they were 4 minutes into the story, that "Sylph VI" was in fact the origin design series for Alan Payne's "MOBI Yacht Nirimba" and she was now about to undertake her seventh Sydney to Hobart, (same number as the MOBI,) (six between '61 and '72, so her last was 51 years ago,) and the co-skipper, Bob Williams, has personally 'taken her around the world 2 1/2 times' so given the stormy forecast, for this Sydney to Hobart, it'll be interesting to see how she goes... Look familiar to some of you...? No, not The MOBI Yacht 'Nirimba'... ....................................................................................................... ...but her sister-yacht 'Sylph VI'..!

By way of an update, (via the Sydney to Hobart 2023 Tracker,) in a tight finish, 'LawConnect' pipped 'Andoo Comanche' on the line, just 51 secs, the only two to have finished at this stage... ...whilst Oli the cat, aboard our sad little 'Sylph VI', in a large starting line-up of 103 boats, is currently placed 91 of the 92 boats still remaining in the race... Meanwhile, as a matter of interest, the RAN SA-owned/ RAN operated 'NAVY One'... ...is currently 59 of the 92 remaining yachts...

Don't think this will get a big run on their ABC etc, but it is spot on. https://twitter.com/i/status/1716283585978859677

Yep, lets not stick to the whole truth or give both sides to the story, let's just push the agenda of the day. I noted exactly the same thing in the news media today when they were talking about how south east Qld is enduring record-breaking temperatures! Yeah, it was the hottest day since 2019........

According to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race official standings, 82 of the 85 yachts completing the full course are now in Hobart, with 'Sylph VI' still at sea as 85th (last), a day-and-a-half behind Alegresse and Silver Fern, with a lapsed time of 07 days, 22 hours, 35 minutes, 30 seconds... and an ETA of 03 Jan 11:35:30 AM... effort, Boys...!
