Hi Bob,
Had a call from Judy Chippendall that Bob, CSAP, R42261, died last Friday 25th after a long illness.
According with his wishes there will be no funeral, just a private cremation tomorrow.
He lived at Bracken Ridge on the north side of Brisbane.
I suppose I was the contact person because I'd been ringing around organizing a term reunion that was
held in Tweed Heads back in August, our first post-COVID. We managed to muster ten of us along with
nine wives and widows.
Of our Jan '59 term, I have a contact list of 23, in varying degrees of health and mobility; I am the youngest,
rapidly approaching my 81st birthday.
I moderate a Facebook page "Mobi Jan 59 entry" that carries a swag of photos.
Anyway Bob, I leave you with it; not many births and marriages these days.
Best Regards,
Peter (Prof) O'Loghlin.
Many of the early MOBIs will remember Bob Chippendall. He certainly made his mark among us and was a well respected 'larrikin' of the day. Whilst I knew him quite well at NIRIMBA sadly our paths were not to cross again however the memories remain.
RIP Bob CHIPS
Bob Mummery

2 x Escort Trips to Vung Tau in HMAS Vampire in 65 & 66.
1 x Escort Trip to Vung Tau in HMAS Derwent in 69. RIP Bob
