Sad news for Bill's family and friends, particularly for MOBIs who may have served with him.
I didn't know Bill as a MOBI but we were serving in HMAS WATERHEN together in the mid to late 1980s. Bill was a no nonsense man, easy to get along with and well respected by the WATERHEN ship's company where he was the Executive Officer.

It is with deep sadness we advise that LCDR William (Bill) Philp crossed the Bar on 11 August 2025. Bill passed away at home in Burpengary following some weeks of complications with his ongoing battle with lymphoma.
The service to farewell Bill will be held
Tuesday 19th August at St Eugene Catholic Church commencing 11.00am. The link to the Holy Cross Funeral website is
